How to Inspire Vocations: Young, Happy and Holy

Don Francesco, we love you!

Italians love St. Francis.  As everybody knows, St. Francis remained a deacon and was never ordained priest.

This is because Francis learned by revelation/vision that the soul of a priest should be as pure as the water that was shown to him in a crystal vessel.

I have heard from a very reliable Franciscan that St. Francis was not a Deacon. The confusion came from the fact that as a founder of a religious order he was allowed to don a dalmatic and proclaim the gospel. Also, there was no permanent diaconate at that time.

I will try to check my sources on this one.

I love the blog. God bless!

I love the endless line across the street, waiting to get into the Vatican Museums.
